where did island church come from?

Island Church began as a community meal and service that was called “Dinner Church”. The first gathering took place as a Fisherman’s Service and meal in November of 2018. It was such a hit that we decided to keep up the community meal and church service once a month. In January of 2019, we surveyed the people who attended and were encouraged by the positive feedback. We had a hiatus when Covid took place (of course), but now have come back and re-branded as Island Church which will be taking place each month with a meal at the Freeport Community Hall.

WHAT IS THE GOAL OF ISLAND CHURCH?

Our goal is to create an environment where people who aren’t comfortable in traditional church settings can feel relaxed and get an opportunity to hear about and experience faith in Jesus.
